Electrical & Instrumentation Lead – Residential Role in Kampala, Uganda

About the Role: Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Lead to join the Maintenance & Inspection (M&I) team. This is a residential role based in Kampala with a family package available, offering a unique opportunity to work on a large-scale oil & gas development in Uganda.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee electrical, instrumentation, and ICSS disciplines, managing a team of TotalEnergies and contracted personnel.
• Ensure maintenance and inspection planning aligns with international and company standards.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies, procedures, and spare parts management.
• Participate in the review and approval of engineering documents, testing procedures, and commissioning activities.
• Support the recruitment and training of future maintenance engineers and site personnel.
• Develop and implement digital tools for effective maintenance operations.
• Act as the Local Industrial Cyber Security Officer (L-iCSO), ensuring compliance with cyber security regulations.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation & Control Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in instrumentation and/or electrical maintenance within the oil & gas or petrochemical sector.
• At least 2 years working on an operational plant in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards and codes (NEC, IEC, ATEX, API, etc.).
• Experience in developing maintenance strategies, procedures, and asset integrity programs.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and navigate local regulatory requirements.
