We have a current opportunity for a OSBL Superintendent on a contract basis. The position will be based in Sohar, Oman. For further information about this position please apply.

He/she will have to contribute with the Construction Manager to the management of all construction activities related to the OSBL scope on the LNG Plant and Jetty, i.e., the Construction Supervision, Pre-commissioning and Completion of Punch until Hand-Over to Commissioning team To control and ensure the progress of construction works, verify the construction engineering, and supervising that all the activities during construction are in line with the overall project execution within the project budget, schedule, and Statement of Requirements up to completion. Ensure the Implementation of construction management philosophy and strategy deployment for all the facilities encompassed within the project, according to the project objectives and the project organization. Assist the Construction Manager in coordination with LNG Plant package Manager and other packages to minimize project exposure to any claim from Contractors with arguments and supporting documents. Follow-up the Construction administration and contributed actively to the day-to-day problem solving regarding the administrative environment of Construction activities. To contribute together with the other discipline superintendents on the coordination for all the specific disciplines, creating synergies between different scopes and ensuring that back-to-back activities can be transferred to other construction members identified by the Construction Manager ensuring continuity on the supervision.

ACTIVITIES

1. To adopt and to demonstrate an exemplary behaviour with regard to HSE, to respect Project HSE requirements/regulations and to ensure implementation of HSE rules.
2. HSES performance in execution of works in his area.
3. To ensure that the construction is done in respect to the design dossier and in line with the Statement of Requirements.
4. Area readiness and resources availability to start new work fronts
5. To set up and maintain work plans with the Contractor (if applicable; otherwise with sub-Contractors) to have all deliverables appropriate plans, procedures and programs for safe and effective execution; issued on time as per project schedule constraint and implementation of the same in execution activities. This is inclusive of all the stakeholders not defined as Contractor but contributing to the OSBL scope of work.
6. Construction sustainable progress with smooth resolution of issues.
7. To report to the Construction Manager regularly and when decisions impacting the works must be taken.
8. Site Progress reporting, with highlights on potential schedule overrun and possible mitigations Ensure that reviews and comments of contractor’s documents are performed in due time.
9. To propose actions as required for the proper execution of the activities under his responsibility. Resolution of issues raised by EPC Contractor and other stakeholders, whether technical or organizational, in line with his management as required
10. To ensure confidentiality of all the documentation produced (whatever its support)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND:

• Experience on large scale oil and gas projects from both owner and contractor perspective, with focusing on multidisciplinary OSBL works.
• Ability to schedule priorities and multi-task within time and budget requirements.
• Engineering degree, with 10-year more oil & gas construction experience or equivalent experience specific to complex industrial OSBLs execution such as all disciplines involved, Civil and Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Telecommunication and pre-commissioning works.
• Strong HSE culture and safety leadership.
• Effective communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence critical decision agreements regarding safety, schedule and cost.
• English written and verbal communication skills, Arabic or French is a plus.
• Ability to encourage and work within a team culture in a multinational environment.
• Communication, Organization, Planning, Time management and Reporting skills.
