Planning/Scheduling Engineer Job OpportunityPosition Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Planning/Scheduling Engineer to lead the development, monitoring, and management of project schedules for engineering and construction activities. In this role, you will work closely with project teams to create detailed work plans, analyze progress, and ensure projects remain on track to achieve milestones and deadlines. Your expertise in scheduling and project controls will be critical to identifying risks, optimizing workflows, and supporting overall project success.

In this role, you will work closely with project teams to create detailed work plans, analyze progress, and ensure projects remain on track to achieve milestones and deadlines. Your expertise in scheduling and project controls will be critical to identifying risks, optimizing workflows, and supporting overall project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using tools such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Collaborate with engineering, construction, and project management teams to establish detailed work plans and schedules tailored to project needs.
- Monitor progress against established timelines and milestones, identifying schedule variances and risks to provide actionable recommendations.
- Analyze the impact of changes in project scope, priorities, or resources on schedules and develop mitigation strategies.
- Perform critical path analysis, resource leveling, and schedule compression to optimize project timelines.
- Prepare and present schedule reports, including timeline updates, resource allocations, and earned value assessments, to stakeholders.
- Integrate project changes into schedules while maintaining alignment with overall project objectives.
- Facilitate interactive planning sessions and meetings with team members, vendors, and contractors to ensure schedule accuracy and alignment.
- Provide proactive and accurate assessments of schedule performance to support informed decision-making by the project management team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a planning/scheduling engineer in the construction or engineering industries.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and other scheduling tools.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, including schedule development, resource management, risk analysis, and earned value management.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
- Ability to adapt to dynamic project environments and effectively manage competing priorities.
