What You Will Do:

  • Enforce our clients SH&E standards and Procedures. Contribute to achieving company SH&E KPIs through due diligence, duty of care & personal accountability
  • Work as team and reports directly to our clients Chemical Technologies Global engineering group in Sugar Land, Texas
  • Provide engineering and technical support for Capital project(s)
  • Provide engineering expertise in the development of the plant design in our clients plants and facilities
  • Work with local engineering and construction firms to manage all aspects of project design and construction, procurement, schedules, quality assurance, safety, and cost control
  • Work with local SH&E government bodies to comply with applicable local laws and requirementsProvide start-up training and documentation
  • Defines problem statement and Project Charter for specific projects
  • Develops engineering solutions to stated problems
  • Develops the project scope of work & deliverables - DBM (design basis memorandum)
  • Develops Capital Authorization Requests (CARs) for project funds
  • Develops FEED (front end engineering design)
  • Develops detailed design or manages a third party EPC (engineering, procurement, and Construction) company for the development of detailed design
  • Ensures all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed
  • Ensures that the project is fit-for-purpose
  • Provides a technical solution to the process or production problem and adheres to the project budget and schedule
  • Proposes a project budget and tracks progress of spending
  • Assists in the preparation of engineering project proposals
  • Monitor and check contractor performance (SPI, CIP) to ensure compliance with procedures, standards, regulations, and contractual obligations in meeting project objectives
  • Provide field / construction management for capital projects
  • Participates in our client/contractor meetings and resolves engineering and other project issues
  • Ensures effective communication between our client and any third party contractors
  • Communicates our clients requirements to third party EPC companies, identifying and addressing design parameters and engineering problems and ensuring solutions are implemented
  • Manages project schedules and budgets
  • Coordinates and checks engineering deliverables from third party engineering companies
  • Reviews and approves project contractor invoices
  • Provides project status reports
  • Manages change orders to the original design
  • Accounts for the successful completion of engineering projects
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree - Mechanical/Chemical Engineering
  • 7 years of experience working as an engineer
Preferred Qualifications:
  • The candidate is expected to have sufficient technical knowledge and awareness of details to be able to recognize when technical problems are developing in the various disciplines, and to initiate appropriate corrective actions
