Employment Type: Full-Time - W2 Contractor | Field-Based
Vehicle Required: 4WD Truck with Tools & BYOD – Bring Your Own Device Laptop
Compensation: Mileage reimbursed at IRS rate for in-field travel only
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated, mechanically inclined Production Technician with a growth mindset and a passion for hands-on work in the field. This is a dynamic role requiring a proactive team player who can work across departments to drive continuous improvement in operations and reliability.
As a key part of our field operations, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment, troubleshooting issues, conducting failure analyses, and validating operational conditions. Your efforts will help minimize variability and defects while supporting a safe, efficient, and high-performing operating model.

Your efforts will help minimize variability and defects while supporting a safe, efficient, and high-performing operating model.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct field-based repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment
- Diagnose issues and perform root cause failure analysis
- Collaborate with internal teams and contractors on operational needs
- Participate in pre- and post-job reviews and customer/3rd party investigations
- Support QA/QC activities and business process verification
- Collect and validate operational data
- Operate within safety standards and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Clear, effective communicator (especially with remote staff via phone/video)
- Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to problem-solving
- End-to-end understanding of oil & gas systems (reservoir to sales line)
- Interest in technology and willingness to adopt new tools and methods
- Proven ability to conduct or learn basic failure analysis
- Self-motivated with a proactive attitude toward learning and growth
- Prior experience in oil and gas or a manufacturing/industrial setting
- Familiarity with components such as level controllers, valves, switches, pumps, vessels, flare systems
- Knowledge of artificial lift systems including gas lift, ESPs, and rod pumps
- Comfortable working with high-pressure systems (up to 3,000 psig)
- Exceptional listening, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Adaptability to fast-paced and changing environments
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, and lifting (up to 50 lbs)
- Regular operation of field equipment and tools
- Periodic desk work and computer/phone use
- Vehicle: 4WD truck with a complete personal toolset (see below)
- Technology: Personal laptop (BYOD – not provided by employer)
- Mileage Reimbursement: IRS rate for in-field mileage only
- Starts from first field location and ends at the last before home
- On-call mileage starts from home
