Orion Group is working with a successful and well established Civil Engineering Contractor to source a Civils Project Manager to join there team based in Northern Scotland,

As the Civils Project Manager you will be overseeing the construction of civil engineering projects across renewable energy, highways, and marine sectors

From project planning, execution, and delivery, you will be responsible for every stage, ensuring completion on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.

So, what are we looking for?


You will be skilled in the delivery of civil engineering projects, preferably in renewable energy infrastructure, highways, or marine construction, exceeding £10m in value. This will mean you also have a commercial mind-set with a good understanding of commercial contracts (NEC3/4).
To succeed, you’ll need excellent communication and analytical skills alongside:
  • HND or Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in civil engineering projects, particularly in renewable energy, highways, or marine construction.
  • Demonstrable Project Management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting and resource management
  • Be able to implement quality management processes and procedures to ensure that the project is delivered to the required quality, standard and specification
  • The ability to conduct regular inspections, audits and quality checks to ensure compliance with company procedures and project requirements
You’ll also need to be able to work at pace as the business moves quickly, and they need to keep up with the demand. 

So, Flexibility, agility, and resilience are key attributes for this role.

Additional skills and experience that would be beneficial

  • Familiarity with heavy civil construction techniques
  • Knowledge of MCHW or National Grid specifications
  • An understanding of the Scottish civil engineering sector
  • Previous experience working in remote or island locations
