Senior Data Scientist

Data Scientist required on a contract basis. Python skills are required.

Contract Duration:  6 months plus

About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our team on a contract basis within a leading engineering firm. This role will involve leveraging data science techniques to drive insights, optimize processes, and contribute to innovative engineering solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience working with large datasets, and proficiency in Python.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement data-driven solutions to support engineering and operational decision-making.
  • Work with large, complex datasets to extract insights and identify trends.
  • Design and optimize machine learning models for predictive analytics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data science methodologies into engineering projects.
  • Communicate findings effectively through visualizations, reports, and presentations.
  • Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance with industry standards.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, including experience with libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, and TensorFlow/PyTorch.
  • Experience with data processing, analysis, and visualization.
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques and statistical analysis.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is desirable.
  • Experience with engineering or industrial datasets is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Contract Details

  • Hybrid working model (with some on-site requirements in London).
  • This contract role comes with paid holidays and is inside of IR35.
