Job Overview:
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Integrated Management System Consultant with extensive experience in developing and implementing management systems and with strong technical writing skills. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in creating and rolling out the Operational Excellence Management System across multiple sites. This role encompasses coordinating inputs from subject matter experts, drafting standards, providing technical writing, document control, and SharePoint management, as well as planning and coordinating the roll-out across various assets. The ideal candidate will have a background in oil and gas operations (preferably refining and downstream, but upstream is also acceptable) and associated management systems.
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Operational Excellence Management System Standards and Assurance Protocols: Develop and write standards for the Operational Excellence Management System, gathering inputs from technical subject matter experts. Develop assurance protocols for each standard for future gap assessment.
  • Technical Writing and Document Drafting: Create, review, and edit technical documents to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Maintaining Consistency: Ensure all documents adhere to company language and maintain a consistent tone and style.
  • Document Control: Manage document control processes, including numbering, version control, document distribution, and archiving.
  • SharePoint Management: Oversee the organization and management of documents within the SharePoint-based intranet library, ensuring easy access and retrieval. Manage access permissions for the OEMS Library.
  • Project Management: Develop a project plan for the development of the Operational Excellence Management System standards and protocols, coordinating with various SME stakeholders to drive progress towards completion.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to staff on document control processes and the use of SharePoint.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical writing within the oil and gas or other high-hazard industries. Experience in document control and SharePoint library management.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Technical Writing, Information Management).
  • Skills:
    • Excellent technical writing and editing skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency.
    • Proficiency in document control processes and systems.
    • Experience with SharePoint management.
    • Good project management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in technical writing, project management, change management, or document control are a plus.
Additional Information:
  • Contract Type: 12-month duration, outside IR35.
  • Work Arrangement: Largely remote with some European travel required.
