Job description
We have a current opportunity for a Welding & Material Specialist on a contract basis. The position will be based in Doha. For further information about this position please apply.
Minimum Requirements
BSc in Materials/Welding or equivalent significant experience.
IRCA ISO 9001:2015 valid Lead Auditors Certificate is a bonus.
Demonstrated over 8 years experience in the role of Senior Welding/ Materials Engineer/ Specialist.
Demonstrated experience working for IOCS as representative and used to solving challenges with EPC contractors, sub-contractors and vendors involved in the oil and gas industry related to welding/ materials programs on large Projects.
Key Accountabilities
Identify and resolve Materials/Welding Design and Construction problems to a satisfactory solution.
Provide materials and welding technical expertise and guidance for all aspects of Jackets and Topsides design, procurement, fabrication, installation and testing to ensure that quality facilities are delivered.
To develop and implement and approve welding procedure programs (IE WPS/PQR/WPQT) for large materials.
To develop and implement Welding/Materials Procedures Plans and work Instructions, records etc.
Maintain design integrity and quality requirements by monitoring specification compliance and reviewing welding and testing specifications and Witnessing/ Approving Procedure Qualification Programs (WPS/WPQR).
Provide engineering surveillance on EPCI materials selection and welding work processes and deliverables including audit of vendor/sub-vendor sources and root cause failure analysis associated with Weld non-compliances, repairs, KPIs and Trends arising therefrom.
Identify and resolve Materials/Welding Design and Construction problems to a satisfactory solution.
