In 2021, a major energy operator was nearing construction completion of their Petrochemical complex, with a handover to operations planned for late 2022. Our longstanding relationship with the client provided the opportunity to bid on supporting their Production & Operations trainee program with successful participants transitioning to full time employees at the facility.
The Brief
Our client, a major energy operator, was seeking a partner to support with their production & operations trainee program for their Petrochemical complex as it neared start-up. The scope involved responsibility for the onboarding, payroll and ongoing assignment support of local production and operations resources.
The Solution
Our service offering included providing market intelligence data, payroll services and compliance expertise to ensure adherence to local, state and federal legislation.
Coordinated onboarding and pre-assignment screening, as agreed with client. This involved completing background checks, drug and alcohol screening, benefits webinar and orientation, procurement of PPE and introduction to industrial workforce expectations.
On assignment support, we provided comprehensive aftercare support to ensure the smooth integration of the trainees into the workforce.
The Outcomes
The success of the program ensured that a second program was completed in 2023, which we were also awarded. Over the course of both programs, in excess of 75% of the trainees were transitioned to full time roles at the facility.
