Job description

We currently have a temporary vacancy for a General Operative to assist with maintenance duties and provide support services for the facility users.

Reporting to Engineering and Maintenance Manager, the key responsibility will include:

  • Undertaking general maintenance and cleaning duties throughout all areas of the facility

  • Delivery of fuel and fresh water to vessels

  • Undertaking safety inspections and checks of the Client's property under the Supervision of the Facilities Supervisor

  • Assist in mooring vessels at wharves and quays

  • Acting as a marine operative on an ad-hoc basis

  • Assisting other members of Operations Team in the undertaking of their duties

  • Undertaking shift working as and when required including weekend working

  • Responsible for complying with good working and safety practice associated with the post and adhering to Health and Safety at all times

Working hours: Monday- Friday 09:30-17:00 (1-hour unpaid lunch break).

Candidates must be flexible working shifts / weekends.

Good work ethic, excellent organisational and communication skills and also health & safety awareness are crucial in this role.

Previous labouring experience would also be beneficial.
