Job description
Role: CE&I Lead Engineer
Contract Length: 12-months
Location: Cumbria/Warrington - 50% on site
IR35: Inside
Client qualify for GIS: Yes (Disability Confident Scheme and Armed Forces Covenant)
The client has established a Plant Facing Design Office (PFDO) to deal with urgent plant related issues, support System Engineering with specification and design support and handle emergent maintenance delivery issues with minor design content. Role as CE&I Lead Engineer as directed and supervised by the client CE&I Responsible Engineer to provide a design service to the HLWP, HALES, E&EP and Remediation OUs within the Remediation and Waste Management (R&WM) directorate.
- Some line management responsibilities and direction of resources onto tasks.
- To take personal responsibility for the delivery of tasks and scheduling resources based on task priority.
- To make some trips to Cumbria to walkdown and investigate.
- The delivery of design solutions in response to problem definitions from the OU system engineering community.
- The production of design packages that are suitable for manufacture and installation, containing drawings, method statements, risk assessments, etc
Skills/Experience:
- Experience with client Safety Case principles and the ability to provide design substantiation for equipment with designated nuclear safety functions to demonstrate that design solutions can meet the required safety function placed on it to the appropriate level.
- A high level of familiarity and experience of working and complying with applicable client Practices, standards, and engineering guides.
- Will have substantial experience in all areas of CE&I engineering.
