Chemist (Dissolution Testing)

$37/hr with medical benefits available at a cost

6 month initial contract

Standard first shift Monday - Friday

100% onsite in North Chicago, IL

Orion Project Services and a market leading pharmaceutical company have teamed up for an exciting contract opportunity for an Analytical Chemist in North Chicago! Our client is seeking candidates with experience in dissolution testing and analysis of samples using HPLCs.

Analytical Chemist Responsibilities include:

  • Dissolution testing and analysis of samples using HPLCs, this includes dissolution media preparation , setting up USP apparatus 1 or 2 ready for dissolution testing, conducting the dissolution per the method, preparation of std, mobile phase, followed by sample analysis using HPLC.
  • All documentation will be in electronic notebook and HPLC data acquisition system such as empower will be used.
  • Plan and execute assigned laboratory tasks utilizing standard procedures and technical understanding of various techniques to complete assigned tasks.
  • Apply basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, LIMS/SLIMS, and instrument related systems.
  • Presents conclusions of defined experiments.
  • Ensures safety and GxP requirements are met when performing tasks.
  • Ensures timely and GxP compliant delivery of high-quality precise data

Analytical Chemist requirements:

  • BS/BA in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Medical Technology, Biology or related field with 2-5 yrs lab experience (pharmaceutical industry preferred) or Masters Degree.
  • Experience with chromatographic techniques (HPLC is a must)
  • Familiarity with GMP/GLP/GSP documentation
  • Solid use of analytical instruments including HPLC and chromatography data systems (i.e., Empower).
  • Experience in dissolution testing and method development
