Job Opportunity: Consents Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Planning Applications: Lead the preparation, revision, and submission of planning applications for TCPA, DNS, and DCO projects, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Consents Strategy Management: Develop and maintain a comprehensive consents strategy, addressing key activities, project interfaces, environmental commitments, consent conditions, risks, and mitigation options.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with the Project Development team, Technical team, consultants, and legal advisors to support and coordinate consenting activities, including stakeholder engagement and consultation during development and construction phases.
  • Stakeholder Management: Proactively manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including regulators and consultees.
  • Community Engagement: Support the consenting process by coordinating consultants and attending community engagement events.
  • Programme and Budget Input: Contribute to the consents programme, budget, and risk management in collaboration with the project development team and other stakeholders.
  • Consultant Management: Oversee specialist consultants and advisors, including defining scopes of work, appointing contractors, and interpreting advice received.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks on documents to be issued to third parties.
  • Notification and Coordination: Ensure relevant parties are informed about project consenting requirements for land activities, site visits, and surveys.
  • H3SE Compliance: Demonstrate exemplary behavior regarding H3SE and implement H3SE rules and requirements within your area of responsibility.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate - Must possess a broad range of planning and consenting skills, along with significant experience relevant to onshore renewables development, including project management, consent, and contract management skills.

Key Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • A degree qualification in Planning, Environmental, or Geographical studies, as well as familiarity with the UK onshore renewables programme, are essential.
  • Demonstrable experience in the renewables or other relevant infrastructure sectors.
  • Deep knowledge and experience of onshore planning/consenting/TCPA, DNS, DCO activities relevant to onshore renewables farms.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo, identify solutions, and influence stakeholders to enable successful implementation.
  • Project management skillsets.
  • Strong initiative and the ability to proactively identify required tasks.
  • An organized approach to working, task prioritization, and time management.
  • Ideally, established positive relationships with key stakeholders.
