Department Manager - Trading Analytics

Great opportunity for an experienced Trading Analytics Leader to work for a Global Energy & Chemicals company based in Austria.

As part of their group strategy, they intend to transition from an integrated oil, gas, and chemicals company to a leading provider of innovative and sustainable fuels, chemicals, and materials.

The Role:

  • Deliver fundamental analysis: Make sure the department performs regular (daily) short-term analysis to support optimization & trading in the tactical decision making process.

  • Perform specific mid-term analysis to support optimization & trading and management in the strategic decision making and planning process.

  • Set-up and run state-of the art Modelling: Create, develop and maintain complex valuation models (fundamental, valuation, pricing, forecasting) to support optimization & trading unit in running daily business.

  • Set-up and run state-of the art pricing process: Create, develop, maintain and run pricing infrastructure (price data bases, price forward curves and scenarios generation).

  • Provide services for market intelligence, valuation and pricing.

  • Develop extensive and state-of the art portfolio reporting to support the optimization & trading unit (i.e. PowerBI) and exposure simulation.

  • Drive innovation in the field of Analytics: Identify, promote and implement continuous innovation in the subject matter, ensure state of the art tool, processes and capabilities (incl. people development).

Required Experience:

  • University degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in trading analytics.

  • Experience in oil, fuels, biofuels, gas, or similar commodity trading analytics.

  • Previous experience leading a small team of analysts.

  • Fluent in English.
