Job description

Orion Group Life Sciences are looking for a Project Engineer for our Multinational Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology client based in Breda. Initial 12-month contract, with high possibility of extension. This is a fully onsite position.

Role Summary

The capital engineering department is responsible for leading the larger projects on the site of our client in Breda. These can be related to the introduction of new products and technologies into the packaging operation as well as upgrades to the existing facility in the areas of warehousing and utilities.

Project engineering is a part of Capital projects. A Project Engineer is a professional who is responsible for all technical and engineering aspects of their assigned projects. They plan, schedule, predict, and manage all the technical tasks of their assigned project.

Main Responsibilities of the role

  • System owner - Responsible for the life cycle management of various utility systems.
  • Support unplanned maintenance and technical issues: troubleshoot and advise the integrated service provider.
  • Provide input for general maintenance improvements.
  • Lead reviews and optimizations of prepared maintenance jobs.
  • Co-lead of development of maintenance concepts (PM tasks, including means and responsibilities).
  • Lead RCAs and optimizations of maintenance concepts.
  • Identify repetitive failure modes and lead actions.
  • Lead user/owner of Computerized Maintenance Management System (Maximo).
  • Grow into a Design Engineering Role.
  • Work with project managers and Sr. engineers to complete design and utilities systems engineering projects within schedule, budget and quality constraints.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in the field of HVAC, mechanical or electrical engineering or related technological field of equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience in a similar (pharmaceutical) manufacturing environment.
  • Willing to occasionally work outside office hours.
  • Fluency in Dutch & English, both in oral and written communication.
  • Strong Interpersonal and communication skills. Collaborating with cross-functional teams. (e.g. Engineering, Validation, QA, Maintenance, Manufacturing).
  • Basic project management skills.
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend plans and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and proactive. Is able to accomplish tasks without direct oversight.
