Job description
Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Facilities Engineer, based on a 6 month contract in Aberdeen.
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the management of change, related to engineered changes of the offshore installation. Asset focal point for RMs, OQs and RABAs.
* Liaise with Asset Discipline Engineers to identify technical problems, evaluate options and formulate solutions of modification projects (incl. shut downs), develop Concept and/or Front End Engineering and Design Studies (using external engineering service providers, if required.
* Liaise with the Asset Integrity team to prioritise and address identified anomalies. Feedback to Asset Integrity teams to allow MCDR reports to be closed when repairs executed.
* Generate statements of requirements to define scope and requirements of external service providers where these services are required.
* In cooperation with Asset or FPSO Engineers, apply appropriate engineering principles, best practice and know-how in the provision of engineering services and give or seek professional advice, as required.
* In cooperation with HSE/Technical Safety and Asset Superintendents, ensure appropriate safety and business risk assessments and that appropriate checks, controls and precautions are taken.
* Review offshore work packages (OWPs), engineering, defects, faults, non-conformances and problem areas as required.
* Be accountable for delivery / implementation of modifications in accordance with agreed plans and to the quality required, assisting with the compilation of OWPs, as necessary to achieve this.
* Ensure effective engineering interface with operations, service providers, design (or technical) authorities, project personnel and other stakeholders.
* Contribute actively to continuous improvement of the facility and develop budgets and plans and assist operations personnel.
* Provide regular planning updates to the Asset Planner, to ensure visibility of upcoming work scopes.
* Ensure timely review and approval of invoices from engineering and offshore service providers and other vendors.
* Manage and control the activities of the Construction and Fabric Maintenance Teams in a cost effective and efficient manner.
* Contract Focal Point for engineering service providers.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Relevant degree or significant experience working in the oil and gas or similar industry.
* Project and operations management experience working in the oil and gas or similar industry.
* Ability to co-ordinate shutdowns and outages.
* Experience in planning, budgeting and cost management.
* Able to build strong working relationships both within the company and externally.
* Able to manage, plan and monitor project priorities and seek support when required.
* Valid survival certificate and offshore medical (plus any other industry standard pre-requisites to travel offshore).
* The flexibility to travel offshore and abroad.
* Excellent written and spoken English.
* Direct experience of Maximo.
