HR Specialist
6-Month initial contract
M-F 8am-5pm
Hybrid/3 days onsite-2 days remote
North Chicago
$32-$35/HR based on health benefits
Orion Group is hiring an HR Specialist to assist the BHR and Procurement leadership teams with recommendations to resolve strategically important people-related matters related to the business segment.
The Business HR Specialist plays a crucial role in aligning human resources strategies with an organization's business objectives.
HR Specialist Responsibilities:
- Partners with BHR Manager and Director to ensure the effective "delivery" of all HR programs and services.
- Responsible for HR results in the business, including client satisfaction, HR effectiveness and associated financial results
- Collect, analyze, and interpret HR data to support decision-making.
- Runs detailed reports, including performance management tracking, metrics, human capital data, scorecards, etc.
- Maintains strong relationships with key HR partners from all Practice Areas to ensure elements of HR are successfully coordinated to meet business needs
- Leverages and interprets data to drive organizational decisions and outcomes.
- Must be able to understand and utilize historical and broad organizational data when weighing business HR decisions and actions.
- Able to understand all the options available and the potential impact of those options across the respective business units
- Assists in the creation and delivery of ad hoc programs related to Procurement Transformation
- Supports HR projects and initiatives as needed including, early career program development and pull through, employee engagement follow-up, initiatives related to OUS follow-up, etc., pull through on external partnership initiatives and culture
HR Specialist Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree. Strong verbal, written and presentation skills. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment
* 5 years+ Human Resources experience
* Must have moderate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications : Outlook, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
* Knowledge of business and HR principles and practices gained through multiple business cycles in HR.
* Understands the regulations and policies affecting HR and the business.
* Learns fast, grasps the 'essence' and can change the course quickly where indicated.
* Raises the bar and is never satisfied with the status quo.
