HR Specialist III
8-month initial contract

Possible extensions based on performance

$43/HR
Hybrid- 3days onsite/2 days remote

Orion Group is hiring for an HR Specialist III position to act as a key member of the BHR, and Business Technology Solutions (BTS) team for our multinational pharmaceutical client in North Chicago, IL.

The HR Specialist III member will work closely with the Manager, Business Human Resources and other team members to review, edit and clean-up existing job descriptions within the Business Technology Solutions Group.

This position will also partner with a cross-section of stakeholders from across Human Resources, Total Rewards, and Business in the job description clean-up processes.

HR Specialist III include:

  • Manages/directs the activities and people associated with the job description clean-up project with a focus on non-IT business applications and disciplines

  • Manage/direct all facets of single or multiple, multidimensional, mission-critical projects through the Full Project Life Cycle.

  • Collaborate/work with project sponsors, business units and users to identify project scope and focus, develop or monitor project initiatives, implement project requirements/plans/processes/tools, assign/guide/monitor project staff, and assure project success.

  • Deliver quality project solutions to business problems or issues within defined budgets and/or timelines.

  • Provide expert project guidance/support proactively through project completion.

  • Provide tracking, reporting, and presentation to management and users.

  • Partner w/ Total Rewards to aid in benchmarking and utilize results for the development of job descriptions, job hierarchies, and equity studies.

  • Key contact for the Job Description site and assisting business with identifying appropriate job codes.

  • Monitor job code activity and inactivate job codes no longer in use.

  • Partner with Total Rewards for job re-evaluations and new position set up.

HR Specialist III Qualifications:

  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills; prior recruiting and job description editing experience.

  • Proven experience in working with large sets of data in Excel, R (or other programming languages such as SQL).

  • Technical expertise in visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) and forecasting tools (Visio Planning) preferred.

  • 5+ or more years of relevant work experience, bachelors' degree preferred, but is not required

  • Ability to speak comfortably in public forums: Running their own trainings; not shy and able to elaborate on data being presented, strong written communication

Must be able to work independently and work well on internal and external teams.
