Job description
We have a current opportunity for a Photovoltaic Regional Developer to join an exciting and rapidly growing renewables company. The position will be primarily remote due to the nature of the role.
You will be responsible for ensuring the participation of the different stakeholders such as landowners, local authorities and third parties involved within the development of greenfield projects, securing private and public acceptance.
Responsibilities:
* Seeking available land for the development of new ground-mounted projects of solar PV plants.
* Targeting potential sites using mapping tools.
* Developing of commercial relationship with interested contacts or contacts that could provide new leads (associations, elected representatives, public administrations, agencies, private individuals, etc.). Good knowledge of the local environment is required.
* Carrying out an initial study that will be delivered to the permitting and technical team. This study will include the preparation of maps, analysis of total and usable areas in terms of urbanism, environmental, landscape constraints.
* Negotiating with landowners to sign a land promise.
* Meetings and coordination with the electrical distribution network operator when required.
* Following up the projects since their land signing to their commissioning. This task involves following up with public administrations, landowners, consultants, etc. and frequent meetings with such entities. The specific permitting process is being managed by another team in coordination with you.
* Working together with the permitting, technical and financial teams based in Madrid.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, agronomy, or equivalent.
* experience in the development of solar/wind projects. As an alternative a candidate with a commercial experience in land securing related activities will also match the requirements.
* Knowledge of urbanism, environmental, and landscape protection rules.
* Knowledge of the agricultural world is a plus.
* Knowledge of GIS software's is a plus
* Good analytical skills to rapidly identify potential land parcels.
* Home-office based function.
