Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Contracts Administrator to join a leading organisation in the renewable energy sector. As part of the growing Supply Chain team, the postholder will be responsible for managing the pre- and post-award contracts for key projects, including large-scale Solar Photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in the UK and Northern Europe.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage contracts for equipment, including Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical works, using NEC frameworks.
- Draft, negotiate, and administer project contracts to minimise risk and ensure alignment with agreed budgets.
- Review and refine Scope of Works to ensure commercial robustness.
- Lead negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve optimal commercial outcomes.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Project Managers, Engineering, Legal, and Finance, during the transition to an EPC Management model.
- Manage project cost analysis, reporting, and payment processes.
- Issue Early Warning and Defects Notices and manage Compensation Events.
- Provide expert Contracts and Procurement advice to stakeholders and promote best practices across the team.
- Build and maintain supplier and subcontractor relationships, sharing market insights with internal stakeholders.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong understanding of NEC frameworks, including drafting, execution, and administration.
- Proficiency in NEC Contract Management software, e.g., CEMAR.
- Ability to navigate a multi-project, multi-disciplinary environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of contract law and risk management practices.
- Experience in the energy, construction, or renewables sector (desirable).
Qualifications
- HND/Degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or a related field.
- Supply Chain Management qualification (e.g., CIPS, RICS) is highly desirable.
- Membership in relevant professional bodies (e.g., CIPS, RICS, or World CC) is an advantage.
