Job description
We have a current opportunity for an Umbilical Engineer on a residential basis in Jakarta, Indonesia. The position will be a 24 month rolling contract.
You will be responsible for the umbilical design during FEED phase, supervising Contractor's activities during Project Execution Phase (detailed engineering, manufacturing, transportation and installation) for subsea umbilical and distribution system (including workover umbilical, SDU, UTA and related foundations), supporting the Company's Development team in the definition of the interfaces of the umbilical package and ensuring that project requirements, industry standards and best practices for safety, reliability and costs are met.
Responsibilities:
Performing umbilical design during FEED phase in alignment with project specifications and ensuring alignment of the umbilical system to project objectives
Ensuring compliance of the umbilical system with Company standards and project specifications throughout
Overseeing umbilical design performed by contractor and manufacturing and testing activities
Reviewing the installation procedure and technical documentation prepared by contractors, ensuring the implementation of established procedures, applicable codes, company standards and specifications, contract, international standards and engineering best practices
Corroborating installability and operability of the umbilical system
Attendance during manufacturing, construction and installation activities at site, yard and offshore
Supporting the Umbilical Work Package Manager/Coordinator in the engineering review and approval, expediting and inspection at vendor site during construction and offshore installation assistance
Liaising with WP manager/coordinator and company project interface engineer to manage and expedite installation contractor interfaces with other relevant project contractors
Ensuring that all internal and external Interfaces (especially with SPS & FPU) are correctly managed by contractors
Technical follow-on/troubleshooting during testing, construction, installation, commissioning and start-up at umbilical manufacturing yard and offshore
Witnessing of acceptance tests for all the subsea umbilical performed by installation Contractor
Participate during mobilization, load-out at site, onshore support, preparations for the campaign, spooling, testing activities, laying, post testing activities and pre-commissioning of umbilical and distribution
Participate in offshore installation and liaise with both the umbilical supplier's technician on-board and the installation contractor to ensure installation guidelines provided by umbilical supplier are followed
Follow-up the detail engineering performed by the installation contractor relevant to subsea umbilical and distribution.
Requirements:
Engineering degree or Diploma (Marine and Installation)
Extensive working experience in deepwater projects in the oil & gas industry
Extensive experience of working with and supervising contractors
Significant experience with umbilical design, manufacturing and installation
Deep knowledge of the umbilical installation for deep water developments such as: Construction & Installation, Integration Testing, Installation, Offshore Installation Supervision, Plant construction
Ability to interpret and write reports and relevant documentation
Good communications skills at all levels
Experience of working in a multinational environment
