Job description
We are recruiting for a Head of Site Health, Safety & Wellbeing to support on the Sizewell C Project (SZC). Key responsibilities will be:
Lead and Innovate: Spearhead the development and implementation of world-class health, safety, and environmental strategies and processes on the SZC construction site. Your leadership will ensure that best practices are not only met but exceeded.
Ensure Compliance: Oversee adherence to the Nuclear Site License, Environmental Permits, planning conditions, and lease arrangements. Your vigilance will guarantee that all activities meet statutory regulations and company directives.
Collaborate and Coordinate: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including UK Government agencies, financial investors, and local communities, to ensure seamless compliance and operational efficiency.
Manage and Develop: Guide a team of HSE professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth. You will ensure that all team activities align with the project's environmental policy and safety objectives.
Drive Quality: Maintain high standards through an environmental management system that meets both company and external benchmarks. Your commitment to quality will uphold SZC's reputation for excellence.
Qualifications
NEBOSH Diploma or European equivalent
Chartered Member of IOSH
IEMA Certificate or similar
A background in health, safety, and environmental management within a large project environment
Proven experience in navigating complex regulatory landscapes and ensuring compliance
Strong ability to lead, develop, and inspire a team
Exceptional communication and coordination skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders
Excellent knowledge of CDM Regulations
