HVAC Engineer
Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Engineering Specialist to join a fast-paced team responsible for delivering essential engineering solutions within a major offshore oil and gas project. This role requires expertise in HVAC design that meets international standards and project specifications while being fit for procurement, fabrication, installation, and operation. The position will be based in Doha, Qatar, with potential for global travel during various project stages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver robust HVAC engineering designs compliant with project, regulatory, and safety standards.
- Review HVAC design documents meticulously, optimizing for practical, efficient solutions while challenging deviations.
- Participate actively in project studies, including HAZID, HAZOP, and constructability reviews, ensuring HVAC designs meet each project's maturity and gateway requirements.
- Assess and mitigate risks, identifying scope changes within the HVAC discipline and reporting to the NLQ Engineering Coordinator.
- Facilitate effective communication and coordination with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment across all project facets.
Project Scope:
- The project involves significant offshore activities, including the installation of wellhead platforms, pipelines, central processing platforms, and integration of living quarters with helidecks.
- This role entails close collaboration with EPC Contractors to develop HVAC design, including equipment specifications, load calculations, and layout planning.
Qualifications:
- Engineering degree in Mechanical or HVAC Systems, with extensive experience in offshore oil and gas HVAC engineering.
- Theorical HVAC background (ability to read, understand and question Calculation notes provided by CTR)
- HVAC Control philosophy and HVAC logic principle (duty/standby, interlock, local/remote control)
- Interface with Safety requirement (pressurization, fire dampers, fire portioning/zoning) and impact/requirement on HVAC design for a LQ
- LQ Experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to navigate complex, multicultural environments.
- Familiarity with international codes and standards (SOLAS, ABS, NORSOK, NFPA) is beneficial.
- Fluent in English, with an analytical mindset and an aptitude for value-driven engineering solutions.
Work Environment: The role requires adaptability within both greenfield (new developments) and brownfield (existing facilities) contexts. Team members will engage with multiple contractors across global sites, requiring an open approach to international coordination and compliance with multifaceted project demands.
