Job description

Purpose
Provide Company representation in executing the site activities of the EPC Contractor and its sub-contractors for all Instrumentation installations (including ICSS) and may support related Telecom, and other Control installations.
Leads the monitoring and oversight of the EPC Contractor's field planning, coordination and execution activities within his area of responsibility.
Apprises the performance of the EPC Contractor in terms of safety, quality, cost and schedule
Prepares and provides routine verbal and written progress reports to the Area Construction, Project Division or Site Manager - Onshore project.
Ensure that the EPC Contractor develops, implements and sustains its Safety and Quality program. Provide front line safety and technical leadership. Ensuring safe effective and efficient execution of Electrical installation activities in accordance with the project schedule and compliance to safety, quality and technical policies procedures and standards.
Providing technical support to all company functional teams within an assigned construction division and geographical area. Provide technical guidance to assure Contractor compliance during planning installation and completion of instrumentation installation activities.
Interfaces with other project and construction area teams removing progress constraints, sharing lessons learned and executing corrective actions. Lead and promote a one team approach to attain Company objectives.
Accountabilities
- Demonstrates visible safety leadership and care for people.
- Act as the Company focal point for Instrumentation installation scope including review and/or approval of related technical and non-technical documents submitted by Contractor.
- Ensures all activities are undertaken in compliance with Company and contractually defined policies, regulations, and standards.
- Apply contractual awareness protecting the Company position when engaging with Contractors on schedule, technical and cost issues.
- Establish and maintain relationships, communications with contractor and company functional teams (safety, quality, engineering, business).
- Coordination of all CPY support functions (safety, Quality) ensuring safe and efficient delivery in line with the construction schedule
- Ensuring contractors ongoing competency processes and procedures are compliant to Company requirements and Qatar government regulations.
- Review Contractors instrumented system safety critical position CVs and interview as required providing technical input to approval process
- Review and recommend improvements to ways of working, procedures and plans ensuring effective and smooth project execution.
- Participate in constructability and construction readiness reviews identifying improvement opportunities with contractor team.
- Understand the Advanced Work Pack process, confirming alignment with path of construction review progress identifying constraints and mitigations.
- Monitor and provide guidance to Contractor to ensure key instrumentation deliverables, progress/milestones are achieved.
- Attend activity planning and risk assessment meetings, assist contractor in identifying schedule mitigations and improvement.
- Undertakes daily walk-through of construction areas, confirming safety standards are maintained,
- Undertakes daily walk-through of construction areas, confirming efficiency of the work and compliance with the planned daily activities and overall construction schedule.
- Review, approve and audit as required Contractor plans, procedures, method statement PTW and task instructions.
- Attends onsite safety meetings and toolbox talks to ensure there is a clear understanding of the activities that are to be performed.
- Review of contractors daily weekly and monthly reports analysing performance and verifying progress and status.
- Develops and issues CPY daily and weekly reports as directed by Line Manager
Requirement
Bachelor of Engineering in relevant discipline and/or recognised industry trade qualifications e.g., NVQ/City& Guilds, Valid certifications issued by Internationally Recognized bodies
- More than (10) years proven experience within EPC and/or Client organization.
- Minimum of 15 years field supervisory experience in instrumentation discipline.
- Demonstrates sound written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate extensive experience of electrical construction installation hook up, pre-commissioning methods and ways of working preferably in a major LNG Project.
- Ability to translate design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, specific to onshore LNG facilities and utility systems.
- Instrumentation and Controls systems experience in LNG industry (transmitters and metering/level devices, F&G, Control valves, loop checks etc.) and familiarity with relevant installation construction processes and relevant industry codes
