Job description
Orion Partner Plus are delighted to have been retained by a leading Nonwoven manufacturer, who are seeking to onboard a Maufacturing Engineer.
This is very much a growth and deveopment position, that has the potential to create and develop an ebgineering team in time.
The Manufacturing Engineer apply Lean Manufacturing and other continuous improvement initiatives while supporting a segment of our manufacturing process
Prioritize, guide and facilitate the activities of the manufacturing function to meet organizational goals, initiatives and requirements
Partner with hourly operators/area supervisors to develop standard policies, procedures, and practices to ensure customer requirements are embodied in manufacturing processes
Establish and maintain uniform manufacturing performance metrics and reporting systems
Use data to reaffirm existing production goals, or establish new goals, and use shop floor observations to identify actions to achieve said goals
Ensure operations metrics are well-known, and track daily progress toward achieving objectives
Lead cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives for safety, on-time delivery, production efficiency, and scrap reduction
Develop the capabilities of those in the department through teaching, coaching, establishing high standards, and ensuring accountability
Exhibit and promote an attitude on the plant floor that leads to an engaged and energized workforce
Facilitate improvements in key production bottlenecks
Drive improvements by developing and implementing systems and procedures based on data analysis
Participate in and lead Kaizen events and Kaizen teams. We wiull also cosnider applicants with TQM or Six Sigma experience..
Qualifications:
BS in Engineering or Business from an accredited institution or 5+ years plus experience in Manufacturing or related field
4 years' experience in lean/continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment
Demonstrate strong abilities in Lean Manufacturing concepts and techniques (Lean tools; Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, TQM, Six Sigma DMAIC, etc.)
Ability to lead a cross-functional team and control timing/budget for improvement projects
Strong communication skills (written and verbal) required
Strong computer skills required including proficiency in MS Office and the ability to read and interpret Autocad drawings.
Candidate must be self-directed, a self-starter, and be able to multi-task and prioritize
