Job Description: Night Shift Mechanical QC Inspector (4-Month Contract)



Location: Stirling, Scotland



Duration: 4 Months (Starting January 2025)



Work Hours: Night Shift

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical QC Inspector to join a key project in Stirling, Scotland, on a 4-month contract. The role involves working night shifts to ensure quality standards are met during the mechanical installation and commissioning phases of the project.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in mechanical quality control, particularly within industrial or engineering project environments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct quality inspections on mechanical installations to ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and regulations.
  • Verify that all mechanical work aligns with engineering drawings, method statements, and applicable codes (e.g., ASME, BS EN).
  • Oversee and document testing activities such as pressure tests, weld inspections, and material verification.
  • Identify and report non-conformances, recommend corrective actions, and ensure resolutions are implemented effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and quality-related documentation.
  • Collaborate with the site team to uphold health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Provide clear communication and updates to the project management team during the night shift.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical QC Inspector in an industrial or engineering setting.
  • Familiarity with quality control processes for mechanical systems, including welding, piping, and equipment installation.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, ASME, BS EN).
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work night shifts and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid certifications in mechanical QC or inspection (e.g., CSWIP, PCN) are highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
