we require a Principal CAD Designer on a permanent basis in south London.
What experience would we like you to have?
• Technical education related to mechanical or structural engineering.
• Relevant previous design and drafting experience in producing subsea structural fabrication within the Marine and/or Oil and Gas industry, including work at Lead/Senior level.
• Ability to assign, oversee, check, and approve the work of a team on a project or in the department.

- Role
- Prepare design/fabrication drawings of steel structures and piping using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD software.
- Under broad direction assign, oversee, check and approve the work of a team on a project or in the Drawing Office.
- Provide focal point for all project communication and activities and ensure the delivery of quality work and services in line with project plans.
- Identify and communicate project resource requirements to the Deputy Discipline Manager or Discipline Manager.
- Assess project resource requests and provide feedback on feasibility in terms of deliverables and timescales given resources available.
- Independently evaluate, organise and prioritise work for self and others.
- Participate in technical audits of projects and studies.
- Actively participate in relevant training and development to pursue continuing professional development.
- Actively help to guide, train, and develop more junior personnel.
- Participate in reviews and development of departmental procedures and work methods.
- Assist Fabrication as required in the resolution of construction difficulties relating to design problems, clashes, etc.
- Provide input for project CTR estimates for project drafting team when required.
- Interface with project discipline leads to ensure CAD deliverable schedule is being met and budget is on track.
- Ensure project team comply with company QA and HSE procedures.
- Responsible for ensuring that design services comply with company standards and processes in line with appropriate legislation.
- Manage internal and external Drawing Office project interfaces.
