Job description


Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Senior Instrument & Controls Engineer, based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities:
* Contribute to the development and closure of Operational Risk Assessments.
* Support the development of Instrument & Control discipline safety studies.
* Prepare material and present asset data for HSEx inspections.
* Identify improvements to support the asset's goal of achieving "Net Zero" emissions.
* Provide key Instrument & Control discipline expertise to Concept and FEED developments.
* Align vendor mobilisations with CMMS scheduling.
* Support SECE and non-SECE maintenance lookahead to manage maintenance while minimising backlog.
* Take ownership of Instrument & Control changes and contribute to plant changes following the MoC process.
* Provide Instrument & Control input to the development and execution of brownfield projects.
* Support ICP inspections and drive action close-out.
* Take ownership of Functional Safety Studies and audits (e.g., FSA 4).
* Chair Alarm Management meetings with onshore and offshore personnel.
* Contribute to the 6-week, 90-day, and 6Q integrated asset plans.
* Develop annual budgets to support ongoing maintenance and improvement initiatives.
* Improve the effectiveness of maintenance schedules based on risk/reliability analysis.
* Manage Instrument & Control risks on the asset Risk Register.
* Stay updated on changes to legislation and ensure compliance with international standards and industry best practices.
* Support the mitigation of risks posed by obsolescence on safety-critical instrumented systems and hardware.
* Support 5-year production loss investigations and progress improvement plans based on investigation findings.
* Conduct periodic visits offshore for audits and to support offshore personnel.
* Attend monthly meetings with Instrument and Controls TA and drive action close-out.
* Support and mentor other discipline engineers and junior Instrument & Control Engineers


Requirements
* Honors degree qualified in relevant engineering field, or equivalent time in the oil & gas industry.
* Experience in mobilising and working in both onshore and offshore environments.
* Extensive knowledge in the development of Functional Safety documentation, audits, and its link to maintenance requirements
