Senior Manufacturing Scientist
Onsite role in Florence, KY
18 month initial contract (potential to be renewed or converted to perm depending on performance & business needs)
Hourly Pay Rate: $39-42/hr (medical insurance and employee benefits available at a cost)
Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm EST, Mon-Fri

Orion Group is hiring a driven and detail-oriented Scientist to work with our global medical device manufacturing client's Reagents Production team in Florence, KY.


The Reagents Sr. Manufacturing Scientist identifies and resolves complex technical issues with current products, fosters continuous process improvement and utilizes critical thinking to drive growth and innovation. The Reagents Manufacturing Scientist performs comprehensive tests using advanced experimental design, analyzes results using statistical data analysis, effectively resolves complex technical problems and utilizes the scientific method as the foundation for problem solving. One area of focus is the testing and troubleshooting of the manufacturing process. The incumbent exhibits very strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to promote and debate key issues. She/he plans and prioritizes daily and weekly work assignments, leads and participates in problem solving efforts, and is assigned complex technical challenges. The Reagents Manufacturing Scientist participates in technology transfer teams, presents and discusses technical and non-technical aspects of assignments with personnel across the organization, builds strong teams and uses leadership skills to engage team members in order to drive to action and achieve results.


The Senior Manufacturing Scientist provides technical expertise to improve and maintain performance, efficiency and quality of manufacturing operations. Plans sequence of operations and prepares specifications and operating instructions. Specifies, documents, and monitors scientific parameters to ensure process safety, control, and performance. Conducts tests throughout production process. Devises solutions to resolve issues and make improvements.

Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or a Master's degree plus 3+ years of experience
* Must have experience flow cytometry, antibody / dye conjugation and bead technology.
* Must have strong technical writing skills.
* Experience working in an FDA regulated environment preferred.
