Partner Plus are delighted to be retained by a global leading player in the air filtration industry, who are looking for a Senior Operations Manager for one of the most high profile plants in the US, this plant is critical to the success of the business in North America and as such this is a high profile role with fast track promotion and career development on offer for the right candidate. 

Position Objective:
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Senior Operations Manager assists the site Plant Manager and other managers on the site leadership team in transforming execution and culture at the plant. This key role will drive improvement initiatives for all KPIs for Production, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Equipment Maintenance. This position is also instrumental in driving our transition to a world-class Lean Manufacturing environment.

Key Accountabilities:
• Supports development of a world class Safety culture and ensures world class Safety execution on the production floor.
• Supports and develops floor leaders and personnel in their accomplishment of their assigned tasks at targeted performance levels. Strong floor leader.
• Lead, direct, and control the day-to-day activities of the Smithfield plant to achieve the short and medium-term financial and operating goals set by the overall organization business plan.
• Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and other operational reports to determine causes of scrap, lost time, product nonconformity, and operating or production problems. Develops mitigations and insures sustained improvement in KPIs.
• Monitors the production processes, adjusts or revises production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems, and ensures goods and services are produced efficiently and with the correct quantities, quality, and cost.
• Consults with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment to improve production and quality of products.
• In concert with the Plant Manager, formulate operating objectives in for Safety and People, on-time delivery, cost reduction, equipment utilization at the plant level.
• Monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
• Lead, motivate, and develop employees to achieve outstanding manufacturing performance results, while leveraging continuous improvement tools such as Lean manufacturing, improving individual skills, and enhancing teamwork.
• Encourage innovation and employee input on potential improvements in all aspects of the plant operation.
• Provide personal direction in the resolution of current operating problems of a critical nature, to maintain maximum continuity of production at desired quality, costs and customer service levels.
• Facilitate standardized procedures / work instructions / visual factory and incorporate best practices methodology

Position Requirements:
1. Completion of a college/university degree in Engineering or applicable technical discipline. MBA a plus;
2. Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) is highly desired;
3. 5-8 years of plant or production leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. Maintenance leadership experience (in addition to plant or production leadership) a plus;
4. Working knowledge of P&L, budgets and financial statements;
5. Experience with SAP highly desired;
6. Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification or related education preferred;
7. Past experience leading and improving a diverse group of functions, including operations/production, engineering, maintenance and reliability, and quality;
8. Comprehensive knowledge of Lean, optimization, and other process improvement processes;
9. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a diverse group of employees in a participative, employee empowerment culture;
10. Experience managing operating costs, capital and maintenance budgets;
11. Demonstrated leadership, influence and communications, coaching and training skills
