Job description
Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Senior Production Engineer, based in Aberdeen.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Role model compliance with company policy: ensure that all interactions with and recommendations are planned and conducted in compliance with the HSE policy.
* Monitor asset production performance on a daily basis; monitor production and injection losses to support root cause analysis.
* Responsible for allocation and production reporting of major developments.
* Identify, evaluate and propose innovative Production Engineering strategies to enhance and safeguard well performance and design.
* Where permitted, contribute to all well activities relating to the design, performance and intervention of production and injection wells.
* Seek to influence to maximize production by optimizing production and injection well stock.
* Provide technical direction to junior engineers.
* Role will involve regular and effective communication with Operations, Reservoir Engineers, Drilling and Completions Engineers, Facilities Engineers, and the wider Production Engineering Team.
Key skills and experience
* Significant experience in the upstream oil and gas industry, preferably with an Operator.
* Ability to recognise and promote Operational issues.
* Team Player and also comfortable working independently.
* Excellent Communicator - Can use language effectively (verbal or written) to gather. information and facilitate the exchange of ideas.
* Creative Thinker - Ability to look outside the box and develop strategies to overcome issues.
* Organised and methodical approach to work with an eye for detail.
Education and Qualifications
* Degree level qualification in Engineering or equivalent
* MSc in Petroleum Engineering desirable
* Significant experience in the upstream oil and gas industry, preferably with an Operator
