WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a System Engineer, you will perform various tasks related to engineering, commissioning, and deployment of a company proprietary system. Specific responsibilities include:
- Install, operate, and maintain proprietary systems at clients' facilities
- Develop and implement commissioning and testing procedures
- Conduct operational systems tests to meet client and safety needs
- Maintain, repair, service, and collect data on maintenance activities
- Review site requirements and utilities preparation for site integration
- Train client personnel on safe operations and maintenance practices
- Perform a combination of office work and fieldwork, with significant travel and time on site
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
- Degree in chemical, mechanical, or environmental engineering or equivalent process engineering degree preferred, but not required
- In-depth knowledge of wastewater, water, and waste treatment processes, operations, and equipment for municipal and industrial applications preferred, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
- Specific expertise in separators, valves, pumps, heat exchangers, instrumentation, and other industrial process equipment
- Knowledge and experience in high-pressure, supercritical, hydrothermal, or similar processes preferred, but not required
- Experience in plant commissioning and startup, including reviewing equipment specifications, functional descriptions, establishing safety protocols, and working with HMIs
- Ability to read, create, and maintain engineering documents such as P&IDs, equipment lists, functional descriptions, SOPs, and O&M manuals
- Proficiency with MS Office, CAD, Visio, Google Suite, and project management tools
- Willingness and ability to travel to company, client, partner, and event locations, with extended periods on-site with clients
- Technically focused, comfortable working in shop or plant environments around industrial equipment
- Thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys working to tight deadlines, embraces challenges, and is dedicated to seeing projects through to completion
- Able to apply client feedback and implement improvement processes
- Outstanding social, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with industrial plant deployment and operations from a regulatory standpoint (e.g., OSHA, emissions/discharge permits, etc.)
- Ability to travel to customer sites up to 100% of the time
- Use of hands to troubleshoot equipment, close vision, and dexterity with fingers
- Ability to sit, stand, and move about the facility
- Ability to lift 40 lbs
