Job title: Completion Engineer
Job position in hierarchy:
N+1 hierarchy: Completion & Subsea Lead
N+2 hierarchy: DM – Drilling & Wells Manager
Job dimensions: This position is starting from the Absheron Full Field Development (FFD) FEED phase sanction until the completion of the Development phase including Project close-out.
Absheron Full Field Development (FFD) data:
• The studies for the next stage of Development are ongoing and targeting FID in late 2025.
• Additional production of 11.3 MSm3/d of gas with 3 additional wells
• Drilling campaign of about 800 days with DRILLEX around 765 MUS$.
Activities:
The job holder will be responsible for providing technical support to finalize completion contracts. Under the responsibility of Subsea & Completion Leader, he will lead the Site Integration Test of Completion equipment. He will contribute to the development of operational procedures.
Completion engineer will also work closely with contractors to oversee the equipment preparation from the manufacturing plan, work on the completion design engineering.
During the mobilization phase, the engineer will support the Drilling & Completion Superintendent with equipment mobilization.
During operations he will be assigned to the rig to prepare for completion equipment mobilization and operations.
He will be tasked to write the operational programs and update these with best practices, issuing guidelines for completion operations, and consolidating the GDCP and well programs
HSE: 10%
- Ensure HSE targets are met during Completion, Subsea, Intervention and Testing Operations.
- Perform QHSE audits in Completion/Subsea/Intervention Contractors' base.
Contracts and Procurement: 20%
- In collaboration with Completion & Subsea Lead, work on the technical evaluation completion equipment, analyze technical appendixes for completion services tender.
- Analyze & clarify commercial bids and prepare RTAs.
- Follow-up and keep track of Subsea / Completion / Testing expenditures and ensure costs stay within AFE. If not inform hierarchy and provide explanations to partners.
- Organize SQM with Completion / Subsea / Testing services Providers at the end of the Operations.
- Prepare Costs summary at the end of the Operations.
Well Engineering: 30%
- Check QAQC procedures for Completion/Subsea/Intervention equipment preparation before mobilization to the Rig.
- Prepare Completion / Subsea / Testing program and guidelines and ensure TotalEnergies referential is implemented.
- Ensure primary objective of Well productivity is met.
- Ensure secondary objective of Well delivery performance is met.
- Prepare Handover dossier (Completion/Subsea part) for Field Operations.
Operations: 20%
- Coordinate Rig upgrade for Completion / Subsea / Testing / Well intervention operations.
- Participate in project reviews (HAZOP, HAZID, DWOP,CWOP,...). Lead Complete Well on paper.
- Ensure Program is followed up and any deviation captured through a Management of Change dossier.
- Provide technical expertise for Completion/Subsea/Intervention subjects to Rig superintendent to troubleshoot operational issues to minimize NPT during Operations.
- Mission to the rig to assist offshore supervision team during completion operation.
Post-job analysis: 20%
- Prepare End of Well Report for Wells and Handover dossier for Field Operations for Subsea/Completion/Testing operations.
- Prepare Return of Experience to capture highlights/lowlights of the Operations (from Engineering to Handover).

Authority to suspend activities when there is a potential or actual threat to human life, the installation or the environment, and notify forthwith the responsible supervisor.
Context and environment:
Development and production of Absheron offshore block is shared by partners SOCAR Absheron (SOA) 35%, TotalEnergies EP Absheron B.V. (TEPAb) 35% and ANOC (30%).
The Absheron block is located offshore Azerbaijan in the Caspian Sea, about 100km southeast of Baku and 33km south of Oil Rocks production and processing facilities, at the water depth of 500 m.
Absheron development reference agreements are PSA, JOA and addendums.
Accountabilities:
- Contracts: Completion Goods & Services / Integrated Completion Services / Subsea landing string / EDP/LRP services.
- Equipment mobilization and preparation: Subsea, Completion, Testing.
- Develop well-related documentation, i.e. Procedures and Guidelines, Post-job analysis and Handover to Field Ops.
- Technical support for Rig Superintendent during Operations. Lead performance monitoring and continuous improvement in Wells activities.
Objective:
- In charge of Subsea/Completion/Testing/Intervention Engineering for the FFD deepwater HP high producer gas wells.
- Implement Total know how and referential for these operations to deliver them within time and budget and meet production target.
- Liaise with Total HQ for support for specific technical topics.
Qualifications/Experience required:
Minimum Education: Master of Engineering (Mechanical, Petroleum).
Minimum Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience of Completion engineering, preferably in subsea context both during project preparation and execution phase, with former leadership position.
Well organized, autonomous, results oriented, high level of teamwork and leadership skills.
Language Requirements:
Fluent English and Azerbaijani language skills are mandatory.
