Job title: Senior Drilling Engineer

Job dimensions:

This position is starting from the Absheron Full Field Development (FFD) FEED phase sanction until the completion of the Development phase including Project close-out.
FFD data:

 FEED engineering studies for the next stage of Development are ongoing and target a FID in 2025.
 FFD plans for an additional production of about 11 MSm3/d of gas with 3 additional development wells
 Drilling campaign duration is about 900 days with estimated DRILLEX around 700 MUS$. LLI contracts to be placed in 2024.
 FEED studies have been delegated to TEP Absheron. Drilling campaign preparation has been included in this delegation.

- Contribute to the return on E & P investments, in a difficult context-technical challenge, through a continual search for improving the value of the project.
- Provide the engineering support of the drilling and well operations, in compliance with codes of practice, safety and environmental protection, all while optimizing costs and lead times.
- Ensure the suitability to operational requirements of resources and adequate levels of responsiveness.

Activities:

  • Ensure plans, programs and operations are company’s HSE compliant

  • Review and revise as required drilling plans and procedures

  • Follow up, analyze and validate data and reporting of well operations

  • Optimize planning, execution program and equipment

  • Follow up, analyze and issue final synthesis of well operations

  • Follow up and control costs of operations within budget and procedures

  • Prepare, plan supply of equipment and services for site operations

  • Ensure commitment of service providers on high levels of safety and efficiency

  • Contribute to improving skills and know-how (training and transfer of technology)

  • Participate in R&D projects

  • Propose technological innovations



Observations:

Ahead of the operations, provide engineering support to prepare the campaign, define well architecture and drilling program, and install many services contracts.
During the drilling campaign, provide engineering support with absolute respect of HSE high performance level and control of expenses.

HSE Responsibilities:

      • Thanks to its experiences and knowledge in Caspian Sea and in Azerbaijan, collaborate to
      • Prepare the Blow-Out Contingency Plan and act as Emergency Management Cell Drilling Technical Expert.
      • Implement the HSE policy of TEPAb on concerned facilities.
      • Promote exemplarity in HSE matters including accurate reporting and feedback, being involved and motivates all personnel on safety culture of the Company.
      • Ensure that the plans of action and audits that are part of the HSE policy are followed up.
      • Establish the Drilling Risk Register and ensure those risks are As Low As Reasonably Practicable.

Context and environment:

The Absheron Conventional Gas & Condensates field is located offshore Azerbaijan Republic in the Caspian Sea in 500 meters depth, at about 100km southeast of Baku, 25km north-east of Shah Deniz field and 34km south of Oil Rocks production and processing facilities. The project aims at supplying natural gas for both domestic market via Sangachal main facilities (condensate) and for international export market via the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP).

Qualifications/Experience required:

 Diploma: BA/MA degree in Drilling Engineering or equivalent.
 10 - 15 years’ of broad professional experience.
 Good knowledge of well design and drilling operations, very firm commitment on the HSE aspects of plans, program, and procedures.
 Exploration and Development of a gas field, drilling and completion, deepwater experience, HP/HT knowledge, high level of autonomy, good records of preparation of campaigns.
