Job description
Crew Manager
The main objective of the Crew Manager is the practical execution of the seagoing personnel policy and to keep the vessels manned according to the safe manning requirements.
The Crew Manager is accountable towards the management and is a member of the company crewing department.
Job description includes
Personnel administration of seagoing personnel
Recruitment and selection of seagoing personnel
Manning RG vessels with qualified seagoing personnel according MSMC
Reporting mutations in the personnel file to external bodies
Advising the management
Organising courses, tests and training
Planning of the seagoing personnel
Mapping out certifications/ licenses/ endorsements for seagoing personnel
Assuring compliance with STOW, Flag State or 3rd party requirement for seagoing personnel
Execution of the seagoing personnel policy
Evaluation of the seagoing personnel reports
Participating in staff / office meetings
Any other required tasks in line with the position or part of organisation
Responsibilities
The Crew Manager is responsible for
Seagoing personnel matters
Executing the seagoing personnel policy
The correct execution of delegated activities by the operations Manager
General knowledge of company SMS and QHSE standards
Possibly participating in any QHSE improving activity
Respect, follow and adhere to company QHSE policies and standards.
Authorities
The Crew Manager has the following authorities
Hire temporary workers Crew or Seagoing personnel
Rank seagoing personnel on a function scale
Organise the transport on behalf of seagoing personnel
Supply guarantee statements to the Immigration Officers
Delegating activities
Send seagoing personnel to be trained on behalf of the continuity of the company
Registration and communications
Verification of hours and tasks for crewing agency
We are seeking 2 years of work experience with fluency in English
