Job description
Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Decommissioning Project Engineer, based in Aberdeen.
**Must have the rights to Work in the UK**
Responsibilities:
* Promotes compliance with the company's management system and project delivery framework, including reporting, governance and assurance requirements
* Collaborates with supply chain to understand latest offerings and market intelligence
* Assists with coordinating project input to the annual work program and budget and strategic plan
* Supports the development and consistent application of risk management, change control and influencing plans across the project portfolio
Proactively manages relations with the operator, JV partners and contactors whilst holding them to account through all stages of a project's life cycle.
* Work with Operator to prepare and present credible and pragmatic solutions to decommissioning activity. Share/gain best practice with Partners to ensure optimum solutions are achieved. Highlight risks gained from wider community experience and share any lessons learned.
Proactively manages relations with the regulators.
* Supports the development of project solutions to deliver economic enhancement and cost saving opportunities
* Ensures consistent approach to project delivery and ensures that lessons learned from previous projects within the portfolio are utilised and applied to future projects
* Support Decommissioning Manager in preparing plan for CoP of operated facilities in the company's portfolio. Prepare 'fit for purpose' process for control of decommissioning activities including gate reviews with key documentation/activity required in support of approvals process, map to NSTA requirements.
* Interfacing and coordinating with internal support functions to ensure appropriate level of monitoring, support, and oversight of Project scope
* Providing support to company on other business areas including Decommissioning scope and involvement and attendance at Gate and Peer Reviews.
* Ensures that all project related activities are planned and conducted in compliance with the Company's HSE standards, Net Zero transition and ESG expectations
* Communicates effectively and consistently role models the company's Values of Teamwork, Respect and Courage
Experience & Qualifications:
* Degree educated with an applicable engineering discipline preferred
* Relevant project engineering experience, preferably part of a multi-disciplinary team with decommissioning content
* In depth knowledge/total business understanding of full-cycle energy business and importance of robust project delivery technical knowledge and experience related to Major Decommissioning Project
* Knowledge of decommissioning legislation, engineering techniques, solutions and challenges
* Highly effective relationship builder at all levels, internally and externally
* Excellent communication skills (verbal, interpersonal, written and presentation)
* Strong initiative and orientation towards strategic leadership and continuous improvement
* Commitment to continuous professional development
* Experience of dealing with JV partners and major contractors with the ability to influence, identifying strategic opportunities to enhance Project(s) outturns and delivery
* Experience of dealing with UK regulators and familiar with applicable NSTA stewardship expectations
* Experience of risk and change management processes
* Knowledge of contracting and procurement strategy generation
* Knowledge of project delivery framework for decision making and assurance
* Knowledge of financial control, cost estimating and planning
