Job description

We have a current opportunity for a Dredging and Geomorphological Advisor on a contract basis. The position will be based in Afungi, Mozambique on a 28/28 rotation. For further information about this position please apply.

The Dredging and Geo-Engineering Advisor shall provide marine expertise and guidance for any marine activity concerned with channel dredging and the stability of the local coastal environment, with the objective of securing safe access to and berthing within the concession area, and protecting the local natural, social and engineered environment of the coastal system.

The DGA is responsible to the Marine Operation Manager to oversee that all marine channel dredging/maintenance and local marine environment monitoring works in accordance with the Project requirements and the Project HES Management System. The DGA shall ensure implementation and adherence to the requirements of the Project Management System and those specific accountabilities documented and summarized in the HES Policy Manual in regards to marine operations and in the HES Safe Work Practices Manual.

Candidate requirements:

- Experience with bathymetric surveys and volumetric calculations
- Geomorphological and oceanographic data collection
- Experience with Navigation buoy installation, inspection and maintenance
- Familiar with all capital dredging and reclamation processes.
- Familiar with Oil and Gas Terminal Operations, including best practices.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Capable of working in a multinational environment, sensitive to the local culture and International workforce.
- Strong computer ability and skills.
- Fluency in oral and written English required; Portuguese language skills advantageous.
- Advanced Training skills.

Candidates must have:
- Minimum 5 years dredging related experience on major LNG projects, working directly for owner/operator
