Job Title - EHV Cables Project Manager
Description
Our Client are currently recruiting for an existing Cabling Project Manager from a transmission and distribution background with extensive experience in tendering and delivering large EHV cable projects to support with ongoing tenders on the ASTI framework and other projects in Scotland. You will have substantial experience of development and delivery of multi-million-pound projects to deliver safely, on-time and within budget. Experience of working on cabling transmission and distribution network operators is required. This opportunity is a site-based position, the Client have works issued under various cabling frameworks which mean the position is UK wide. We envisage you will be predominantly working in Scotland to begin with; however thereafter you will need to be flexible in your work location as you will be away from home for periods of time and will travel and work across northern England and Scotland. You will be expected to visit site walks for tenders when required, and also work from home and your nearest client office to suit business needs.

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager HV & EHV Cables, you will responsible for management and delivery, ensuring that assigned projects are delivered safely and within the financial and programme requirements. In addition, ensuring high standards are applied in the management and execution of the project delivery whilst aligning to client objectives. You will have a proven track record of leading and managing project teams on Cabling projects through all phases of design, construction, commission and close out. Programme / project management / planning skills are key. Experience of managing the design requirements for Cabling projects inclusive of commercial budgets is essential.

What You Will Do:
Assist in the preparation of win plans for strategic bids and tenders.
Be responsible for the successful delivery of all stages of assigned projects to meet the key programme milestones.
Provide support and preparation for the mobilisation of new projects.
Accountable for the approval of the scope of works, and the plan and estimate for each element of the project.
Accountable for team consistency in the preparation and presentation of project controls to be deployed on the project, including but not limited to: PMP, QA/QC, and CPP.
Plan, project programme, risk & change management, EVM analysis, internal budget control and cash flow throughout.
Prioritise the assignment of project resources and resolve conflicting requirements to actively seek to improve and optimise project delivery.
Ensure that performance management ethos and practice is adopted by project delivery teams.
Achieve a consistent high standard of project programming and producing monthly reports.
Ensure the successful resolution of issues and challenges on individual projects as required.
Provide guidance and leadership and when necessary, acting in the role of trouble-shooter.
Demonstrate effective individual and collective SHE leadership and promote enthusiastic SHE culture. Manage Safety through early development incorporating life cycle designs that minimise risk to personnel. Drive the "Safety by Design" philosophy through the project delivery process. Work within established Company policies and procedures to address breaches of the SHE policies or management systems where necessary.
Ensure that any lessons learned, and innovation are applied internally.
Enforce standards of quality and professionalism for each stage of the project cycle.
Monitor compliance with, and the monitoring of NEC Contract terms and conditions, scope of work and variations log, NEC Contract terms and conditions, scope of work and variations log with sub-contractors.
Manage the Programme of Works, Quality Plan and Project Risk Register.
Promote company values and standards and exhibit appropriate behaviour in accordance with Company ethos demonstrating safety, integrity & commitment always.

Requirements
Engineering qualification (HND / HNC) or equivalent industry track record.
Project management qualification Association for Project Management (APM) or similar.
Understanding of Engineering principles, Construction Design Management (CDM) guidelines; and working knowledge of Cabling Installation techniques.
Recognised SHE qualification such as Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) or National Examination Board in Occupational Safety & Health (NEBOSH).
Experience of working with Distribution Network Operators.
Strong commercial and contractual awareness: experience of managing the design requirements for Cabling projects inclusive of commercial budgets; good knowledge of NEC forms of contract; and good knowledge of Street works, and Local Authority permit requirements.
Ability to lead and build project teams; and experience of developing and managing good working relationships with client and sub-contractors.
Ability to proactively resolve any site issues with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Be able to work away from home when required and to hold a full driving licence.
