Job description

We have a new opportunity for an experienced Electrical Instrumentation Planner on a contract basis on one of Canada's Leading LNG Projects.

The opportunity exists for an experienced Maintenance Planner to help plan corrective maintenance plans accurately in scope, timing, costs and all HSSE aspects while being part of a fantastic team in one of Canada's mega projects.

You'll play a key role in providing support, coaching, and mentoring to Maintenance for the specified disciplines while being responsible for assisting site maintenance programs for Preventative Maintenance (PM), Spare parts, Policies, Procedures, Practices and Guidelines, and daily technical needs of the operating site within their Specialty.

Along with your accountabilities which will include but not be limited to:

  • Update Operation steps for all complex corrective maintenance planning requirements in anticipation of potential 'big or small hits' that could cause significant production losses.
  • Provide guidance for efficient and effective execution of the required scope by identifying a logical sequence of job tasks.
  • Provide estimates for duration of each activity leading to optimized efficiency.
  • Discuss all complex, e.g., multi-trade, high effort, high value, and safety critical corrective maintenance work with the maintenance and production team to improve the quality of the work pack.
  • Prepare necessary documents (Work package) needed for field execution e.g., reference documents such as equipment manuals, drawings, task checklists, inspection, test plans, etc.
  • Monitor critical dates for work in planning queue, such as start/completion dates, and informing interfaces regarding deviation and deferrals as required.
  • Evaluate feedback from execution regarding level of detail, accuracy of plans, actual hours to complete tasks to reduce labour cost.
  • Incorporate improvements from work order feedback coming from the frontline, such as updating task lists, BOMs, materials data, etc.

Requirements to be successful include:

  • 10 years' experience as a Technologist or Journeyman within applicable discipline
  • 3 years' planning experience
  • Skill / Expert in codes and standards, practices, and technologies within specific discipline.
  • Experience in Turnaround and Routine Maintenance Planning
  • Diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Stakeholder Engagements
  • Strong interpersonal, English language and communication skills
  • Can manage evolving priorities and deliver on multiple commitments in a timely manner.
  • Competency Assurance
  • Experienced with Computerized Materials Management Systems (SAP Blueprint) & other work platforms such as Primavera, Microsoft Office - Excel, Word etc.
  • Be a Canadian Citizen, Canadian Permanent Resident, or hold a legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis other than your current employer.
  • Valid Clean Drivers Licence
  • Be willing to work 14/7 Nightshift 10 hr shifts.
  • Be willing to live in Camp during your work period.
  • Be willing to work nights, weekends, holidays during the contract.
