Job description

We have a current opportunity for a Engineering Manager - Consumer Goods on a permanent basis. The position will be Vicenza, Italy.

Purpose: The Engineering Manager Consumer Goods is responsible for overseeing the ideation, design, development, and implementation of engineering projects that drive our business forward in the Consumer Goods arena involving water filtration and sourced small domestic appliances.

Key Accountabilities:

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and a proven track record of managing small engineering teams in the consumer goods sector.
  • Lead and manage a team of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the successful execution of projects.
  • Develop and implement engineering strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the design, development, and testing of new products and technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product management, regulatory approvals, and supply chain, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of engineering projects, adjusting as needed to meet deadlines and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and teamwork within the engineering department.
  • Guide development, especially in the water filtration arena, to strongly support the achievement of strategic business goals.

Desired skills

  • The ideal candidate should have strong leadership and team management skills to guide and support a small but international engineering team effectively.
  • A solid background in engineering and CAD design, with proven experience in managing engineering teams within the consumer goods sector.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address challenges and make informed decisions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • A commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering department.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and standards relevant to the consumer goods sectors of small appliances and/or water filtration.
  • Empathy and Cultural Awareness: ability to relate to people from different cultures and build effective relationships with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to innovate and provide creative input to new product
  • Experience in working with customers globally
  • Strong ability to interpret data, draw appropriate conclusions and recommendations, and produce high-quality work (using MS office)
  • High level of autonomy and independence. Able to work with limited supervision
  • Experience in plastic injection moulding tooling strongly desired
  • CAD use ability desired, although design usually performed by report
  • Experience in Quality Systems and managing risk
  • Able to communicate progress and issues affecting it
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a multi-disciplinary, global environment
  • Fluent in the English language, written and spoken
  • Availability to travel when necessary
