Job description
Key requirements and essential skills for the role:
- Act as the 'intelligent customer' for environmental issues for specific areas across the management hierarchy.
- Promote the sustainability vision, embed into every day working and win the hearts and minds of client personnel.
- Produce timely and accurate environmental specialist advice, as a subject matter expert to ensure compliance and improve environmental performance.
- Derive and analyse environmental performance metrics.
- Manage / undertake walkthroughs inspections, audits and investigations.
- Seek opportunities for improvements and to learn from experience.
- Develop and proactively manage the interface/relationship with all internal and external regulators/stakeholders.
- Manage / produce technical documents/ requirements in support of the Environmental Management System (EMS).
Key Accountabilities:
- Produce timely and accurate environmental assessments and documentation, as a subject matter expert, for one or more IPD projects.
- Manage the technical development, production and review of documentation within the scope of the Environmental Management System (EMS), as appropriate.
- Assure the implementation of environmental requirements from the EMS within relevant project area.
- Act as the primary point of contact for environmental advice within the project.
- Advise on the production and development of environmental strategies and actively encourage their implementation.
- Manage and participate in the evaluation of compliance process, including but not limited to inspections, audits and investigations.
- Advise on the production and development of improvement plans and assure their successful implementation.
- Develop and proactively manage the interface/relationship with all internal and external regulators/stakeholders.
- Liaise across the business, as required, to ensure a connected approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that strategies, policies and management system requirements are communicated and understood.
- Confidently challenge activities and processes that fall short of the expected standard of environmental protection and sustainability.
Minimum Requirement:
- Experience working within Nuclear sector with permits.
- Experience working within project environments.
