Job description
We have a current opportunity for a Fiber Optic Technical Lead on a contract basis. The position will be based in Paris for a period on 12 months on a residential basis.
The Technical Lead Fiber Optic will ensure proper development of the Fiber Optic Project in term of project development, scope of work, cost and schedule impacts. He will be based in Paris with frequent missions in Houston / Mozambique and reporting to Interface Upstream Manager.
Reporting directly to above N+1, the job holder will:
· Follow-up and coordinate Optic Fiber Project
· Follow-up, coordinate and develop when needed proper documentation for the project to go from a call for tender to a FID
· Support the execution of the project with the selected contractor
· Support Interface team for all interfaces between Optic Fiber and other packages, including C&P teams
The job holder will follow above scope under Interface Upstream Manager supervision and coordinate with other stakeholders only if requested by N+1.
Activities
The Technical Lead Fiber Optic will be in charge to:
· Ensure all Project HSE requirements are adhered to and implemented. Ensure HSE is emphasized throughout all Fiber Optic design activities. Play an active role in the development of the safety culture on the project, making safety a natural part of all work performed
· Review and put together the Technical scope of work for the Optic Fiber Project
· Ensure the proper follow-up of this project with KPI in term of schedule, delivery, technical review and reporting
· Report on a weekly basis to his/her N+1 in term of schedule and technical progress, including milestones
· Ensure a proper review of commercial and cost with C&P support and under N+1 supervision
· Ensure the interface with the main Contractor based on a bi-weekly meeting with all stakeholders as a minimum and more frequent interaction on ad-hoc basis
· Ensure that proper alignment with CPY GS is made or assess any derogation / deviation
· Put in place MZLNG documentation process for the Optic Fiber project
· Ensure that all proper presentation and details are put together for any approval process
· Liaise with his/her N+1 to organize the interfaces between Optic Fiber and other CPY packages including but not limited to CPY Upstream and Onshore, IT department in Maputo.
· Assure the issuance, review, and approval of Fiber Optic technical documents
· And other duties as required
Qualifications/Experience required
The Technical Lead Fiber Optic shall be:
· Experienced in the management and delivery of offshore and subsea projects, particularly projects with subsea pipeline and subsea equipment components (integrated EPCI). Past experience in deep water and subsea to shore projects is needed. Experience in Optic Fiber would be an advantage.
· Familiar with equipment delivery, past project experience in Africa or other remote or isolated jurisdictions would be an advantage.
· Able to act as a problem solver with the ability to achieve outcomes where various stakeholders are involved.
· Ability to multi-task and work as part of small and flexible team.
· Strong track record in offshore and subsea project delivery with a minimum of 15 years direct experience of the same.
· Sound understanding of applicable regulatory requirements in international settings · Fluency in the English language. French will be a plus.
