Job description

Our client requires a Functional Safety/Control System Engineer on an LNG FEED Project for an initial 6 month contract role that has an immediate start

The role will be based on 3 days a week in the Offices in Surrey with two days remote.

Job Description

Functional Safety Controls system Engineer with a track record in designing systems for Oil and Gas projects. The candidate should have experience in both the conceptual/FEED and detailed engineering phases of projects.

Key areas of expertise should include:

Designing Control systems in compliance with IEC 61508/61511 standards.

Support Flare design study

Contributing to the design of ESD/SIS loops based process control systems.

Conducting and documenting reliability calculations.

Creating the Safety Requirements Specification (SRS), SIL validation procedures, and SIL verification plan.

Hands-on experience in drafting Cause and Effect and control narratives for the safety system.

Holding a Bachelor's Degree or possessing equivalent applicable experience.

Experience in participating and supporting HAZOP, LOPA, SIL (Safety Integrity Level) determination studies.

Significant experience in EPC/Detailed engineering projects, plant operations in Process Engineering or Automation & Control Systems within industries such as oil/gas, hydrocarbon, refinery, offshore or onshore.

Certification as a Functional Safety Engineer.

Preference will be given to candidates who are familiar with Shell standards/work processes and SIFPRo software experience.
