Exciting opportunity for an experienced HSSE Leader to work for a Global Energy & Chemicals company based in Austria.

As part of their group strategy, they aim to transition from an integrated oil, gas, and chemicals company to a leading provider of innovative and sustainable fuels, chemicals, and materials, while taking a global leadership role in advancing the circular economy.

The Role:

  • Heading HSSE & Process Safety department by ensuring compliance with legal, internal HSSE and Process Safety Management regulations.
  • Ensuring functioning emergency planning and preventive safety measures.
  • Conception and planning of the basic strategic and technical orientation of the area of responsibility in coordination with the Line Manager, Operations, Asset Management and the Functional Manager.
  • Setting guidelines on processes in the area of responsibility, as well as collaborating on the definition of methods (best practice) for all refineries.
  • Collaboration in the technical and technological optimization, harmonization and standardization of the processes of the refineries with the aim of achieving an overall optimum.
  • Plan the human, material and financial resources for the area of responsibility on the basis of the information provided by the subordinate departments.

Required Experience:

  • University Degree Master/Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Process Technology, or Technical Chemistry.
  • Minimum of 15 years relevant professional experience in HSSE/Process Safety.
  • Extensive industry plant knowledge (process technology), technical & LS experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Process safety
  • Experienced in safety audits and ability to deliver findings in a structured manner to all levels of the organisation.
  • Fluent in German and English.
