Job description
Job Title: Head of HSEQ
Location: Reading, UK (Hybrid Working)
Our client is a leading company in the renewable energy sector, focused on advancing the transition to net-zero. Specialising in large-scale solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), they are dedicated to designing, constructing, and optimising clean energy projects across the UK and Northern Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of a positive HSEQ culture and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and best practices.
- Provide expert advice on HSEQ matters, conducting site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Oversee compliance with ISO standards (9001, 14001, and 45001) and ensure internal and external audits are conducted effectively.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure adherence to CDM regulations, review contractor safety documentation, and contribute to project planning.
- Investigate incidents, develop corrective actions, and manage risk through continuous improvement.
- Mentor and manage a team of HSEQ professionals, fostering a collaborative and safety-focused environment.
Key Qualifications & Experience
- Chartered (CMIOSH) or Graduate (GradIOSH) Membership of IOSH, or equivalent.
- NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 5 in Health & Safety.
- Hands-on experience in high-risk environments; experience with solar PV, battery storage, or electrical safety is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of HSEQ systems, with experience in ISO standards compliance and auditing.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders across various levels.
