Job description

We have a fantastic new opportunity for a HSSE Data Analyst on a contract basis for approximately 16 to 18 months depending on start and completion to thrive in one of Canada's leading Projects. There is an attractive rate on offer based on encumbant's experience and skill level. The role can be based out of head office in Calgary and/or from the project site in Central/West BC and/or with some travel.

Purpose & Accountabilities:

As an analyst and super user to the HSSE Incident Management System, Fountain Incident Management (FIM), the HSSE Data Analyst is accountable for:

Entry of all incidents into FIM that fall within the reporting boundaries for this significant Project.

  • Tracking, analyzing and maintaining incident data for communication & planning purposes. Ensuring all FIM records and associated information meet Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and ensure confidentiality.

  • Support incident classification of all incidents as well as supporting assessment of the initial RAM analysis through engagement of respective HSE Team Leads and Incident Owners.

  • Tracking and keeping current all HSE Dashboards/Scorecards/KPIs Compliance/ FIM Action Status/Group Reporting data.

  • Maintaining FIM hierarchies, user accounts, permissions, and distribution lists.

  • Providing expertise, training and support to relevant personnel on the use of FIM.

In addition, the HSSE Data Analyst is also responsible for:

  • Analyzing incident data, identifying trends, failed barriers and behaviours

  • Developing and distributing both scheduled and adhoc HSSE performance reports as scheduled / needed

  • Implementing the company's HSSE Communications Strategy at the project site

  • Implementing required records and data management plan

  • Providing maintenance and clean up of the HSSE SharePoint library

  • Providing planning and coordination support to site HSSE team

Dimensions:

  • There is potential for (infrequent) travel to other project locations.

  • Work closely with the project contractors' site-based HSSE and Construction personnel to ensure accurate monitoring and reporting of HSSE performance.

  • Communicate with representatives in joint venture group companys FIM Gatekeeper Network.

  • Have the ability to challenge business need for / priority of requested adhoc HSSE performance reports.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Expertise in the field of HSSE; in particular HSSE performance reporting, incident management, Risk Assessment, and FIM or other electronic incident management database systems.

  • 1-3 years HSSE Experience.

  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, multi-location, major project environment.

  • Attention to detail, being self-driven and a quick learner are key.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • HSSE Certification considered an asset.

  • Knowledge of construction activities considered an asset.
