Job Description:
The I&E Technician is responsible for coordinating testing, troubleshooting and commissioning facilities, interfacing with operations to ensure all systems are operating efficiently and all safety systems are functional as designed.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Experience with multiple types of controllers/PLC's/HMIs.
- Must have experience programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining various types of PLC's, RTU's, SCADA and Communication equipment.
- Experience with various types of industrial applications including but not limited to applications for: Allen-Bradley, ABB, Schneider, IDEC, Emerson, etc.
- Extensive knowledge of end devices, their functionality and ability to program them.
- Understands various types of communication between controllers and end devices with the ability to make them talk.
- Understands radios and networking.
- Background in SCADA systems
- Ability to write, add and test operations.
- Ability to diagnose system malfunction, locate cause of breakdown and correct the problem or recommend solution.
- Understands and is capable of commissioning new sites and/or additions to facilities.
- Ability to balance priorities to complete projects on time.
- Understanding of oil and gas facilities and their flow process
- Willingness to research products and/or systems that are in the field unfamiliar to them.
- Ability to run a crew and/or give direction to technicians as needed.
- Create positive relationships with customers and co-workers.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License with clean driving record
- Intermediate experience maintaining PLC Systems for the Oil & Gas Industry
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
- Ability to work with Customers, Managers, Supervisor, and Technicians to safely complete projects within the time and budget constraints.
- Must be detail oriented, self-starter, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must have the ability to work both cooperatively and independently.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must have a good attitude and the ability to learn new skills.
- Must be a team player, willingness to help.
- Must have the ability to adapt positively to changes in policies, procedures and priorities, or work environments.
- Ability to read and write English required.
