Job description
Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Instrument Engineer, based in Aberdeen.
Applicants must have the full legal rights to work in the UK.
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for ensuring that designated assets are operated within their design envelop, current best practice guidance and legislation
* Responsible for on-going technical assurance of the asset instrument systems and equipment's
* Responsible for assuring software change control procedures on all software based instrumented systems are complied with and managing users in the software change control system
* Provide front line technical support to operations
* Raise technical queries and produce scope of work for change requests to resolve operating issues with the platform
* Perform offshore troubleshooting of operational issues and plant trials of improvements
* Monitor performance of ICSS SCADA packages including ExaQuantum, SER, SFM, ARA and PRM and implement improvements in platform monitoring and verification reporting
* Conduct performance reviews to identify improvement opportunities including bad actor analysis and root cause analysis
* Monitor and evaluate maintenance and fault rectification on instrumented systems
* Liaise with major projects group on discipline specific technical issues
* Review of design deliverables from engineering contractor
* Provide operations commissioning assistance to brownfield modifications including management of support vendors
* Participate in management of change (MoC) process and ensure instrument modifications are risk assessed and comply with MoC procedures
* Participate in Performance Standard Non-Compliance (PSNC) process to ensure incremental risk are assessed to determine if it is safe to continue to operate and comply with Performance Standard Non-Compliance process.
* Responsible for preparation and annual budget control for instrument & telecoms.
* Responsible for management of healthcare support contracts including KPI reviews
* Provide Instrument input to production loss reporting
* Collaborate with production engineers to develop data visualization, machine learning/analytics tools to improve asset availability and uptime
* Responsible for assuring remote access procedures on all software based instrument systems are complied with and managing users in the remote access software system
* Responsible for assuring Cyber security procedures are complied with and audit actions implemented
Experience & Qualifications:
* Degree qualified Engineer with relevant detail design experience and significant operations involvement.
* Experience with Yokogawa Centum VP and/or ProSafe RA systems
* Good knowledge of IEC 61511 & IEC 62443 lifecycle and verification requirements
* Current working knowledge of instrument engineering, guidance and legislation, as it is applied by an E&P operator in the UK NS sector
* Preferably Chartered Engineer with professional engineering institute such as IET or InstMC
* Aware of latest technical developments and commitment to maintaining competence through CPD
