Job description

We have a current opportunity for a Junior Wellsite Drilling Engineer - Offshore for long term. The position will be based in The Netherlands. We are looking for local candidates currently living in The Netherlands. For further information about this position please apply.

The Junior Wellsite Drilling Engineer provides support to the Drilling Supervisor (DSV) with respect to operational planning and initiating the reports that are utilized to maximize the value of the evaluation step of the well delivery process.

Provide general well engineering support, thus ensuring that all necessary quality checks and processes are adopted to ensure the safe and efficient execution of well operations;

Report to the DSV in day to day offshore operations, with functional reporting line to the Drilling Superintendent (DSI);
*
Ensure in close cooperation with DSV, Contractor Rig team and Material Coordinator that all equipment and services are coordinated in a timely and efficient manner to allow for safe and effective operations execution;

Identify and reduce invisible lost time and maximize efficiency as part of the "Plan Do Study Act" work process by focusing on job preparation and optimization through the Plan of Action process, capturing and implementing of lessons learnt through the After Action Review process and bi-weekly performance and lessons learned meetings;

Support DSV and offshore HSE Supervisor in ensuring environmentally responsible operations;
*
Support the drilling team offshore (DSV) in a calm, effective way and maintain a professional positive atmosphere at the rig site offshore;

Liaise and collaborate with DSV, Contractor Rig team and Material Coordinator as and when required;
*
Provide engineering support to DSI and project Drilling Engineer onshore as and when required.

Requirements

The candidate we seek has a Master degree in Petroleum or Mechanical engineering, or other relevant technical discipline, or a Bachelor degree complemented with solid practical oil & gas well engineering experience.

At least 2 years of experience in drilling or other well operations.
*
Basic knowledge and good understanding of applicable governmental rules & regulations and technical expertise in drilling and P&A operations.
*
Lead by example by proactively demonstrating and promoting compliance and commitment to HSE policies and procedures.
*
Strong communication skills are essential and a good knowledge of both written and verbal English.
